1st - 3rd Grade Curriculum
1st - 3rd Grade Students will explore the following 4 Units. Students are first introduced to vocabulary lists starting in 1st grade, and add many new vocabulary terms and phrases to their lists each year as they progress through 3rd grade.
Unit 1: En La Escuela (In School)
Unit 2: Mi Cuerpo Sano (My Healthy Body)
Unit 3: En la Casa (In the Home)
Unit 4: Spanish-Speaking Counties: Each grade level focuses on a different region of Spanish Speaking countries and culture.

Unit 2: Mi Cuerpo Sano (My Healthy Body)
- Parts of the body
- Common foods and drink, along with expression of likes and dislikes
- Ordering and Restaurant Etiquette (2nd- 5th Grade)
- Common clothing items
Unit 3: En la Casa (In the Home)
- Names for family members
- Physical Descriptions
- Rooms in the Home
- Objects in the Home
- Common Verbs and Activities
Unit 4: Spanish-Speaking Counties: Each grade level focuses on a different region of Spanish Speaking countries and culture.
- 1st Grade: Spain and Mexico
- 2nd Grade: Geography, capitals and general information of all Spanish-Speaking countries
- 3rd Grade: Central America
- 4th Grade: The Caribbean Islands (Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Cuba), Africa (Equatorial Guinea) and top of South America (Venezuela, Colombia)
- 5th Grade: Remainder of all Spanish-Speaking South American countries
